Reconnection and Volunteer Recognition Morning Tea

Nannup CRC

Nestled in the Southwest of WA, Nannup is a small yet mighty town with a strong sense of community. At the heart of this is the Nannup Community Resource Centre (CRC) - a vital hub where locals access technology, find information and support, and connect with the many volunteering organisations that make Nannup thrive. This spirit of community is powered by an incredible network of dedicated volunteers.

Like many towns, Nannup has faced significant changes in recent years, leaving some residents feeling disconnected. Recognising the need to rebuild connections and celebrate those who keep the community running, the CRC organised a Reconnection and Volunteer Recognition morning tea. The event was a resounding success - small yet mighty, just like Nannup. Over coffee and cake, attendees shared stories of how they came to Nannup and what volunteering means to them. Coinciding with International Volunteer Day, the CRC presented certificates of appreciation as a heartfelt thank-you for the year’s contributions.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Many attendees expressed feeling more connected to both the CRC and the wider community, describing the event as a fresh burst of energy. Moving forward, the CRC is committed to maintaining this momentum and strengthening ties with local organisations and volunteers.

This experience serves as a reminder: saying thank you does not need to be grand or complicated. Sometimes, a cup of coffee, a slice of cake, and meaningful conversation are all it takes to make people feel valued, appreciated, and truly part of something special.
