Employment Support & Services
Many Centres assist community members in finding and applying for a job and enhancing their employment skills. They can help people in various steps to help job seekers find a job and improve their chances of getting a job – including free services to help with accessing online employment services, writing and preparing a resume, writing a cover letter, submitting an online job application and more. They are also able to refer individuals to relevant specialist supports and services based on local availability and needs
Lots of these Centres also help coordinate a range of accredited and non accredited training courses to help empower people in their career development or job search. Courses that have been run by various Centres include forklift ticket, heavy vehicle driving, chemical handling, workplace health and safety, computer and technology training and more.
By reducing barriers, guiding individuals through job seeking and application processes, and offering practical training, Centres are helping make career opportunities and skill development accessible to all, while contributing to their local economy and the liveability of their area.
