Linkwest's Submissions

Our submissions to state and federal inquiries use the local wisdom of our members to influence public policies which affect our network’s ability to care for local WA communities. Where appropriate, we make sure that our members’ voices are directly quoted in our discussions.

State Budget Submission 2023–2024

The Linkwest State Budget Submission for 2023–2024 provides four recommendations which if followed will ensure the financial viability of the small community managed organisations we call Neighbourhood Centres (NC) and Community Resource Centres (CRC).

Our State Budget Submission 2023–2024 represents our members voice. It is an account of ongoing conversations of the concerns of our network and an opportunity to imagine what the future could hold for local communities, CRCs and NCs throughout WA. It outlines what Linkwest will be advocating for in the lead up to the May 2023 Budget.

Regional Inequality Inquiry

Submitted November 2020

In November 2020, Linkwest made a federal submission to the Senate Standing Committee on Economics Regional Inequality Inquiry explaining how Covid-19 has proven that WA Centres are essential services for communities that do not easily access government services in emergencies. This was seen when they filled gaps in the co-ordination of federal, state and local government policies during COVID-19.
