Membership

While Linkwest exists to promote the advancement of all community, neighbourhood and learning centres in Western Australia, there are very real benefits that come from official membership to Linkwest. These include:

  • Free, customised training – in areas that will help you to better manage your Centre and deliver your services
  • Networking opportunities – learn and grow from the experiences of others operating in the sector.
  • Voting rights – you can have your say in how Linkwest operates and the direction it takes
  • Reduced price resources – many resources are in fact provided free in the first instance to our member Centres

Membership Types

Linkwest offers three levels of membership, each with their own conditions entitlements and cost. Please click on any of the membership types for details and a downloadable application form.

 

 

Full Member

Full Membership Conditions
To be a Full Member of Linkwest a Centre must:

  • Be a community-based Centre which practices the philosophy of community based learning.
  • Be a community focus for people gathering together for friendship, action on community issues, information exchange and mutual support in education and learning.
  • Provide opportunities for community participation in organisation, management and decision making.
  • Be open to all in the community.

Full Membership Entitlements

  • 4 Newsletters per year.
  • Invitations to networking meetings.
  • Invitations to and subsidies for Linkwest State and Regional Conferences.
  • Invitations to group training/forums at nominal cost.
  • Reduced prices for all resources.
  • A copy of the Linkwest Annual Report.
  • The right to nominate for a position on the Linkwest Executive Committee.
  • Invitations to Linkwest social events.
  • Voting rights (2 votes) at Annual and Special General Meetings.
  • Free, customised training at their Centre.
  • Extensive support and representation by Linkwest.
  • Free first set of Linkwest Resources.
  • Regular mail outs and information on funding and training opportunities, and current issues.
  • Free training with Community Skills Training Centre.
  • Free access to the members area of the Linkwest website, which includes an online members forum and a document library.
  • Reduced membership for other organisations.

Full Membership Fees
The cost of full membership to Linkwest is according to the Centre’s funding level i.e. ongoing grants. It does not take income from courses, memberships, etc. into account.

Fees for 2011 – 2012

 $30,000 - $50,000 $65.00
 $50,001 - $75,000 $75.00 
$75,001 - $100,000 $85.00
>$100,000 $95.00

All fees are GST-free.

Associate Member

Associate Membership Conditions
The purpose of Linkwest is to support community groups that foster the principles and philosophy of community participation by encouraging skills development, local decision-making and the formation of networks to enhance the quality of life in communities.

An Associate Member must be a group or individual who supports the philosophy and practices of community based learning as above.

Associate Membership Entitlements

  • 4 Newsletters per year.

  • Invitations to Linkwest State and Regional Conferences.
  • Invitations to group training/forums at nominal cost.
  • Reduced prices for resources.

Associate Membership Fees

Individual $25.00
Organisations $35.00

As a Reciprocal member of Linkwest, you will receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Newslink.
In return, please add us to your mailing list as we are interested in receiving regular information about your organisation.
