Following the previously very successful inaugural ACE Forum in 2011, the 2012 ACE forum was held at the State Library on 8th October. On 3rd September, while torrential rain and gale force winds lashed the Perth metropolitan area, attendees of Linkwest's Adult Learner's Week launch and 30th Anniversary celebrations were warm and cosy inside the Tradewinds Hotel in Fremantle, having a cuppa and a chat while getting creative with baubles, sequins, glue sticks and tea cups!

In the weeks leading up to the start of Adult Learner's Week (1 - 8 September), Linkwest is hitting the airwaves across Western Australia with a campaign aimed at boosting particpation in ALW events. The campaign, called Give it a Go WA , prompts listeners to visit a specially created Facebook page - also called Give it a Go WA - where any WA-based organisation holding an ALW event can post their details. Federal SCHADS (Modern Award)
When the Modern SCHADS Award was introduced in 2010 the rates of pay noted in the award did not apply as Fair Work Australia had yet to consider the Pay Equity application lodged by the ASU. Bayswater FC have trumped the competition not once, but twice in recent weeks.
Not only did the Centre win our Facebook challenge (and a snazzy video camera for their efforts) by increasing their number of 'like's' for the Centre's page by a fabulous 127%, but they also won the State Award (WA) for Early Childhood Service of the Yea r at the Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards ! How we began...
Glyde-In began in 1981, when the Town of East Fremantle overturned a demolition order on a house it owns at 42 Glyde Street. The Council instead gave it to a group of mothers who had been searching a place to meet with their young children.
